Parental Involvement

Governing Body

The Governing body of Sperrin Integrated College consists of 16 members and includes:

  • 2 Parent Foundation Governors
  • 4 Parent Governors

This structure ensures that all interested parties are involved in the decision-making process and governance of the College.

 Parents’ Charter

Educational research shows that when a parent/guardian engages with their child in the educational process they achieve better outcomes regardless of what the child’s starting point was. This can be reflected in a number of ways:
• Participation in the Homework process
• Positive Parental interactions with school
• Attendance at Parent Meetings
• Encouraging your child’s involvement in the extra curricular process
• Providing/arranging transport home when a pupil stays late
• Attendance at school events such as plays and Carol Services
• Assisting with fund raising when a child is involved with a school project such as ‘Habitat for Humanity’
